Training Essentials for Ultrarunning: Jason Koop Presentation, Book Signing, & Shakeout Run

Jason Koop Dylan Bowman Ultrarunning

Join us Thursday, April 7 for a special evening with our friend Jason Koop, Director of Coaching at Carmichael Training Systems. Jason will be discussing his about-to-be-released book Training Essentials for Ultrarunning. We will have advanced copies of the book for sale at the event that you can have autographed!

Itinerary for the evening:
6:00pm-6:45pm: Pre-Lake Sonoma 50 shakeout run with Jason Koop! We will also have demo shoes available from our friends at Nike Trail Running. This will be a casual, social run suitable for all abilities.
7:00pm: Jason Koop Presentation based off of his new book Training Essentials for Ultrarunning
7:30pm: Book signing and social hour for everyone at the event

Koop coaches many of the top ultrarunners in the USA, including locals Dylan Bowman, Alex Varner, Fernando De Samaniego Steta, and Larisa Elaine Dannis. Additionally he coaches professional ultrarunners Timothy Olson, Kaci Lickteig, Dakota Jones, and coached Dean Karnazes during his 50/50/50 and trans-USA runs.

The presentation will be an entertaining, high-level discussion of many of the topics covered in Training Essentials for Ultrarunning, including:
•The science behind ultramarathon performance
•How to use interval training to focus workouts, make gains, reduce injuries, and race faster
•Simple, effective fueling and hydration strategies
•The A.D.A.P.T. method for making the right decisions to solve a race-day crisis
•How to plan your ultra season for better racing

Additional information on Training Essentials for Ultrarunning can be found HERE.

Additional Event Details can be found on our Facebook Event Page.

This is a free event. We will have seats available, though we recommend bringing a camping chair if you would like to ensure a seat. We hope you can make the run and/or presentation, and good luck to everyone racing the challenging Lake Sonoma 50 on April 9!
